The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting provides foundation knowledge in the areas of accounting, finance, economics and law.
Upon completion, the course articulates to the Masters programs in Professional Accounting which, upon completion, enable students who do not possess formal undergraduate qualifications, including TAFE diplomats, to acquire the relevant academic qualification for membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA).
The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting comprises a mix of accounting, finance and related subjects which collectively provide a range of essential business skills and knowledge that are necessary for managerial level employment in today's dynamic business environment.
The course serves as a mechanism for entry of suitably qualified non-graduates into the Master of Professional Accounting (C04238) and the Master of Professional Accounting Extended (C04237) programs.
Career options include management-level positions in industry or government, as well as not-for-profit organisations.

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting may be completed in one semester of full-time, or one year of part-time study.
Classes are offered over three semesters each year (namely Autumn, Spring and Summer). Please note that not all subjects are available in the Summer session.
In most cases, subjects are offered on the basis of one three-hour lecture per week, over a 13-week period, however, certain subjects may be delivered in intensive mode and be completed over a shorter time period.
The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting totals 24 credit points, made up of four core subjects.
