This course prepares registered nurses to become neuroscience nurses in various health care settings.
Students develop specialised skills and knowledge needed to become neuroscience nurses and learn to recognise and support the unique characteristics of the neuroscience patient population.

Applicants should be registered nurses with an Australian Bachelor's degree in nursing or an equivalent tertiary qualification. Registered nurses who do not have an undergraduate diploma or degree but do have recent relevant work experience and can demonstrate the capacity to undertake tertiary study may also be considered eligible.
Applicants are normally expected to have concurrent employment in their area of specialty and at least one year's full-time professional employment in nursing is desirable.
This course is offered on a one-year, part-time basis.
Students must complete a total of 24 credit points, comprising four specified nursing subjects.
Students who are employees of Northern Sydney Central Coast Health (NSCCH) may undertake a Clinical Accreditation Program (CAP)with NSCCH. This is at no cost to participants. NSCCH students who successfully complete the CAP are awarded an exemption from the Specialty Clinical Practice subject.
