This subject explores ethical, legal and professional issues related to complex cancer nursing practice, throughout the continuum of care from early diagnosis through various stages of advancing disease. Emphasis is on common cancers such as those originating in bowel, lung, prostate and breast cells as well as some relatively rare lymphatic and haematological cancers. The subject addresses aspects of oncology across the lifespan. It also examines the role of the nurse in addressing complex psychosocial issues such as patients' endurance and survivorship.
