Topics covered in this subject include introduction to the legal system, constitutional aspects, the nature of legal rules, the legislative framework for actions against public or community managers (e.g. tort, contract), aspects of the law concerning legal forms available for community organisations, privacy considerations and corporations law.

Assessment: Written assignment (40 per cent), research project of 3,500-4,500 words (60 per cent).
