79029 Contract Tendering and Government Procurement

6cp
Postgraduate
Subject coordinator: R Reynolds

This subject considers the role of government procurement in a national and international context (including the World Trade Organisation and bi-lateral agreements), the relationship of government procurement to competition policies and the values to be promoted in Australian government procurement policies.

It also considers the Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines in detail, case studies on government procurement, and the central role of contract tendering in government procurement.

Students become familiar with basic contract law principles and administrative law principles as they impact on contract tendering and examine case studies from Australian case law, which give guidance as to good government decision making.
