This subject studies what is required to understand and apply the theory and concepts of restorative justice and re-integrative conferencing in both the criminal justice system and in the management of non-criminal hurtful behaviour.
This is an area of rapidly expanding scholarship and practice throughout the world. In the development of students' practical skills, the intensive block classes explore the application of the theory in both the preparation for, and conduct of, conferencing circles, as well as the self-awareness of personal qualities required by facilitators of such conferences.
