Undergraduate and Postgraduate

This subject examines the developments in law and legal principle that have shaped the legal system in mainland China. It is divided into three historical periods, 1949–79, 1980–94 and 1995 to the present. These three periods reflect the main divisions in the development of China's legal system. Three interrelated themes or precepts are used to analyse the development of law and justice in China – constitutionalism, legality, and the rule of law.
