Undergraduate

This subject further explores the legal relationships arising between members of families with particular emphasis on families involved in a breakdown of the family unit. Families constituted under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cwlth) and through de facto relationships (including same sex couples) and other domestic relationships are the main focus of this subject.

Topics include the financial consequences of family breakdowns; adoption, conception and surrogacy issues, contempt and enforcement, third parties and liabilities, injunctive relief and apprehended violence orders; dispute resolution, practice and procedure; and reform issues.
