In this subject students consider the constitutional basis of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cwlth); liability under the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cwlth) and fair trading legislation for misleading and deceptive conduct; remedies and criminal liability under the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cwlth); liability for unconscionable conduct; and suppliers', service providers', and financiers' and manufacturers' liability for defective products (including standards and bans).
