This subject aims to introduce and develop legal method skills of case analysis, statutory interpretation and legal research. These skills are fundamental to both the study and practice of law. Students are able to practice these skills in a range of contexts. They are also given the opportunity to explore theoretical approaches and challenges to legal reasoning as well as the various dimensions of the issue of judicial law-making. Students are also introduced to a range of legal assessment skills relevant to their studies in law. Students also learn how to find primary and secondary legal materials using a number of resources. They also learn to develop research strategies and apply effective methodologies that suit the circumstances of their research tasks.
