In this subject students apply their knowledge and skills through an in-depth guided study of a specific topic within ecology or groundwater management. This normally involves undertaking the research detailed in the proposal developed in the prerequisite subject. The types of studies undertaken can involve experimental investigations, the application of technologies, research into a technical or management issue or an extensive critique of the literature. Industry-based projects are welcomed. The results of the investigation are written up in a report or publication. In the report the research topic is reviewed, findings presented, and the implications of those findings evaluated. This subject is supervised by the National Centre for Groundwater Management.
