Professional Strand – Media Arts and Production – 200 level
The subject provides students with the opportunity to undertake self-directed production research and project development. It is an ideal subject to take before MAP Project. Project development may include development for a film/video/sound or new media work. The development period allows students to develop their professional knowledge and skills and apply it to the pre-production activities required for readiness to undertake a media production project in a later semester or after graduation. Activities might include, researching a production style, finishing off a script to final draft stage, doing test shooting or production designs as well as undertaking the pre-production logistics for a later project. Students attend selected development seminars, design a learning contract and conduct self-directed activities, which form the basis of case study reports to class at the end of semester.
