49554 Groundwater Computing

Using the Python programming language students develop practical skills in data handling and numerical modelling related to groundwater management problems. Skills they obtain include basic scripting, data manipulation, data visualisation, and numerical programming.

Students then apply Python programming in a topic related to groundwater management and modelling in areas including, but not limited to, data visualisation, spatial estimation, optimisation, solute transport modelling and water balance modelling.

Additional subject costs: Course notes cost $20. Textbook costs to be advised.

Assessment: Continuous assessment involving tutorials, assignments and problems.
