On completion of this subject students will understand how to design, develop and implement quality and operations management systems in manufacturing, service and government organisations; the process of certification of quality and operations management systems according to the Australian and International Standards ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and AS 4806 (Safety); the concept and methods of evaluation of quality and operations management systems (Auditing); and the relevance of effective quality and operations management systems for continual improvement strategies, initiatives and programs.
Assessment: Assignments (40 per cent), examination (60 per cent).
