The subject objective is to help engineers in their working careers to participate in business discussions within larger organisations and to assume a wider managerial and organisation role. In smaller enterprises or in individual engineering projects, financial and commercial knowledge will allow engineers to gauge the economic and marketing viability of a technical undertaking. The subject covers the socioeconomic environment and commercial and managerial aspects of a telecommunications enterprise. Financial considerations of the telecommunications sector and of interconnect issues are discussed.
