This subject is designed to provide an overview of recent developments in the field of cognitive science. Bringing together work from several disciplines, including psychology, neurophysiology, cognitive science and artificial intelligence, this subject investigates the biological mechanisms underlying human intelligence in order to provide a theoretical model for emulating such behaviour artificially. Topics include knowledge representation, reasoning systems, memory systems, selective attention, learning and emerging artificial intelligence techniques such as neural networks.
