32031 Advanced Visual Processing

6cp
Recommended studies: programming in C or C++, a minimum of Mathematics and Statistics

This subject presents advanced topics in computer vision, visual pattern recognition, image processing, and image analysis. The aim is to make students research-ready and highly technically skilled in these fields. In each lecture, the lecturers illustrate a reference algorithm for a specific problem, including a reading guide to the original paper and how to survive its technicalities. Students are then assigned with the reading of other more recent papers proposed for the same problem, which they have to understand autonomously. Practical implementations complement the literature review.
