This subject introduces the concepts of information and information systems and introduces two major types of information system. For information retrieval systems, the subject deals with classification and search techniques and the evaluation of web-based information resources. For accounting information systems, the subject covers basic accounting principles, classification of accounts, typical accounting reports and accounting with spreadsheet packages.
