Teamwork has become an ever more important aspect of carrying out tasks as well as building knowledge and expertise within organisations. In addition, virtual teams collaborating across vast distances are using Internet technologies to support their work. This subject introduces the ways in which teams function in modern organisations, how businesses can change to support culturally diverse teams, and how systems can enable effective team operation. It focuses on improving the ways people work together, developing trust, designing team structures and establishing information and communication technologies to support transnational teams.
