This subject examines: the principles and practice of effective research work and preparation for doctoral assessment; and research training, including information retrieval and processing skills. It involves formulation of a research plan, including problem definition and research rationale, aims and objectives, hypothesis development and identification of scope limitations; research methodology and data collection strategies; statistical analysis techniques for both quantitative and qualitative data; and key statistical tools and software applications.
