The aims of this studio are: to introduce the social responsibility carried by the practice of architecture and thereby develop an understanding of the demands of the design program/brief and site; to develop response to site through consideration of context, environmental and sustainability issues, and buildability considerations; for students to understand the integration of structure and form as a primary means of architectural design; and to introduce notions of typology, and the relationships between space, power and human action.
