6cp
Undergraduate
Subject coordinator: Anne Bamford

In this subject, students study the art of contemporary Australia from the perspective of artist, critic, historian, contextualist and curator. Students are directly involved in making art, speaking with artists and visiting exhibitions. Through a detailed study of the personal and varied nature of the creative process, students reflect on the current nature of art education in schools and analyse possible alternative strategies based on the working models of artists. This subject highlights individual approaches to art and is applicable to students with a range of artistic understanding and experience.
