013952 Research Perspectives
6cpPostgraduateSubject coordinator: Clive Chappell
This subject introduces research in education through engagement with a broad selection of research texts drawn from different traditions of inquiry. It develops a researcher's perspective on participants' own context of practice and an appreciation of the diversity of contemporary approaches to research and the values and theories implicit in them.
This subject explores research texts in how they are constructed by the researchers' assumptions about knowledge, values and the nature of reality. The subject engages with five research perspectives: empirical/analytic, interpretive, critical theorist, feminist, and postmodern/poststructural.
