This subject provides an introduction to the diverse field of music therpy: its context, history, methods, research base and underlying premise (including physiological, psychological, social and spiritual roles of music). Music skills are consolidated and extended, focusing on improvisation, aural skills, vocal care, and composition/repertoire for children. Students undertake clinical practe supervised by registered music therapists and address the issues of professional ethics and self care.
