The Tourism sub-major examines tourism from a variety of perspectives using a systems-based approach. Participants study the broad tourism phenomenon and gain a clear understanding of tourists as consumers in a variety of sociocultural contexts. Participants not only understand the workings of various types of tourism firms and the collaborative linkages that underpin their success, but they also recognise the positive and negative effects of tourism activity, and the role that tourism firms may play in producing outcomes beneficial to the broader community.
