This subject has been designed to enable students in the final semester of their undergraduate program to gain clinical nursing practice in an area of interest to them. Students develop their understanding of the health needs of women in vulnerable groups, for example women in prison, women with unplanned pregnancies, survivors of abuse and violence, women who are experiencing difficulties as a result of alcohol and other drug use, and sex workers. Students have opportunities to observe or practice interventions that help these women to regain or maintain their health and also to negotiate the health system.
