6cp; 3hpw
Undergraduate
Subject coordinator: Cecilia Heffer

This subject addresses complex treatment of fabric, including chemical application, and construction and deconstruction of cloth. On completion students should be able to: develop an awareness of the possibilities of experimental textile processes as a vehicle for expressing ideas; develop skills to explore the potential of various fabric manipulation and surface treatments; utilise mark-making skills in order to produce conceptual surface design work; develop an awareness of the broad range of contemporary textile design practices; apply the knowledge of construction and chemical treatments on fabrics; and demonstrate professional workshop practice and knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in the Print Room.
