This subject introduces students to historical and contemporary design, production and applications of typographic form. The lecture series explores the role of technological developments and social change in type design. Studio practice emphasises hand-generated processes which are then translated in the computer laboratory where software programs (Illustrator and Photoshop) are introduced.
