85508 Design Arguments: Critical Judgements
6cp
Through this subject, students learn to develop a critical voice as designers, articulating their views about the design processes and outcomes to professional and lay audiences. This subject investigates the nature of criticality, examining different histories and philosophies of aesthetics, taste and judgment. Students experiment with a range of critical thinking techniques and so learn how to reflect upon their own design processes. They also experiment with a range of techniques for written, verbal and visual presentations and so learn how to formulate strong and persuasive arguments about the merit and consequences of designs.
