This subject promotes traditional specialist techniques through a variety of complex and inquiring design outcomes. Through case studies and studio practice, this subject tracks and investigates the historical and contemporary context, as well as the use of, haute couture techniques. This subject is supported by Drape methodology.
This subject is facilitated through participation, demonstration, interactive tutorial workshops and supervision. Subject content includes; complex design and pattern methodologies and an introduction to the drape process; haute couture techniques and practices; design realisation utilising accumulated knowledge and skills; and relationship of haute couture in an historical and contemporary context.
