This subject studies the scholarship that is required for the understanding and application of the theory and concepts of restorative justice and reintegrative conferencing in both the criminal justice system and in the management of noncriminal hurtful behaviour. This is an area of rapidly expanding scholarship and practice throughout the worId. In the development of students' practical skills, the workshops explore the application of the theory in both the preparation for and conduct of conferencing circles, as well as the self-awareness of personal qualities required by facilitators of such conferences.
