This subject aims to understand concepts and use techniques in the high-level design or architecture of large software systems. It shows how an architectural model can assist in achieving the non-functional requirements of a system, such as reliability and time performance. The subject covers basic architecture concepts including modelling (based on components, connections and constraints), architectural styles, principles and viewpoints. It includes the use of architectural patterns, including infrastructures. Architectural description languages are used to describe the architecture.
