This subject aims to further theoretical and empirical research skills in the preparation of a Design Dissertation. It also aims to expose students to and consolidate theoretical approaches and models for considering the productive relationships between theory and practice, and the process of architectural design as a form of research. The subject also enhances a critical understanding of architecture as both a discipline (a body of knowledge) and a profession (practice), and introduces students to the autonomous as well as interdisciplinary nature of architecture.
