023125 Learning in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education 1
6cpPostgraduateSubject coordinator: Lori Beckett
This subject is divided into two modules, each requiring two hours attendance per week. Module C examines controversial and sensitive issues (with some reference to the Catholic Education PDHPE syllabus). Module D concentrates on dance, and combines a practical and theoretical focus. In this subject, the emphasis is more on the component areas of personal development, health and physical education in terms of the basic requirements for recruitment into the profession. The focus is on the foundational content of the teaching programs, as distinct from the syllabus and methodology.
Together with the modules in 023122 Professional Practice in PDHPE (Modules A and B), all four modules emphasise developing skills and understanding of the structure and content of the syllabuses, and provide students with opportunities to explore a wide range of programming, planning, teaching and learning strategies and computer-based technologies.
