This subject is structured in such a way that students: reflect on teaching practices; analyse the school as a workplace; examine, test and evaluate their theories of teaching and learning; explore educational problems; and critically evaluate methodologies to solve educational problems.

The field experience component of this subject occurs in a regular primary school. The placement articulates with Practicum 8, which is intended to occur in the same setting. The field experience has both distributed and block elements.
