016012 Analysing Adult Learning
6cpPostgraduateSubject coordinator: Kate Collier
This subject addresses the nine key questions that inform this enquiry-based curriculum. It helps those involved in adult learning to understand 'why they do what they do' in their workplace or in a community context. Participants explore the values that inform their ideas about learning and compare these to those of other adult learning practitioners. A range of different adult learning perspectives are explored, both theoretically and practically, and analysed in terms of their relevance to the experience of the group. The subject raises issues about the learning options available to adult educators and helps them develop a coherent and cogent rationale for practice in different contexts. It also provides frameworks for helping adult educators deal with ethical issues in learning.
