This subject examines the nature of professional practice in a variety of VET contexts. The roles and responsibilities of professional practitioners are explored along with the nature of professional development and the ethical dimensions of professional practice. Current and relevant past policy developments are studied in depth and their implications for professional practice analysed. Other objectives include developing awareness of the importance of continuing professional education and of career options in a VET environment characterised by changing professional roles and expectations.
