This subject aims to develop and understanding of the relationship between identity, culture and communication, and the importance of this relationship in both professional and personal contexts. It explores culture and identity as socially constructed and dynamic, and examines these concepts in relation to learning and teaching across a range of work contexts. The subject also builds on the prerequisite subject in extending students' interpersonal and intercultural communication skills through an understanding of how language is related to social contexts.
