This subject introduces participants to a broad understanding of educational information technology and computer systems as they apply to educational and human resources development contexts. On completion of this subject, students should be able to effectively use computers and other IT in educational and training contexts to solve and document relevant problems. The understanding and skills developed in this subject are designed to promote confidence in the operation of computer hardware and software.
This subject is concerned with and covers educational use of the computer in six application areas: word processing, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, multimedia and telecommunications. The subject includes analysis of educational computer applications for use by educators, human resource development practitioners, administrators and students.
