This subject provides students with an understanding of the major psychological approaches to human learning. It includes relevant theory and research about the nature and process of learning and remembering. Issues about the development of knowledge and cognition, perceptual–motor skills and attitudes and their application in a work-based context are examined. Furthermore, those variables affecting acquisition and remembering and the transfer and application of learning, including a range of learner characteristics, are discussed.
