This subject provides students with an introduction to the world of work and with an overview of the global changes in modern employment. It provides students with the skills to analyse the structure and organisation of work in mature industrial societies. The subject reviews the various shifts in the nature and composition of the labour force. Case studies are used to emphasise the nature of work and its impact on individuals and groups. Students study the trends and developments in workplace contexts through applied projects.
