015289 Professional Experience: Reflecting on Practice

This subject is field based and has two components: undertaking field visits and demonstrating teaching competence. It aims to:

  • develop students' appreciation of the role of critical reflection on practice in the context of their own professional development
  • provide opportunities for students to engage in the process of reflective practice with other experienced numeracy education practitioners
  • provide students with a range of strategies to use in order to critically evaluate their own practice in consultation with at least one other experienced practitioner. This may be done either by inviting the field advisers into their own classrooms or by visiting the classrooms of the field advisers.
