The Faculty of Law offers a range of cross-disciplinary law subjects – that is, studies in various strands of the law for students from other UTS faculties who are not aiming for a legal qualification, but who wish to become familiar with the law as it affects their chosen profession. Through its Cross-disciplinary Program, the Faculty of Law offers subjects for students in the faculties of Business; Engineering; Nursing, Midwifery and Health; and Science.
Cross-disciplinary students enrol in Faculty of Law subjects through their home faculty. However, the Law Information Office can provide information and assistance to cross-disciplinary students once enrolled in a Law subject.
The following majors and sub-majors are available within courses from other UTS faculties:
As well as undertaking core law subjects as part of their major, Bachelor of Business students have the opportunity to select a Law sub-major. The Law sub-majors are designed to help Business students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to recognise legal pitfalls and to react appropriately. Students are, of course, also taught to utilise the law to achieve legitimate success. This is particularly true in the accounting and management professions.
Law subjects not listed under any of the above majors or sub-majors are also available in courses from other UTS faculties – check the course entry for the course in which you are enrolled for further details or contact your home faculty.
