Local students are advised to refer to the Bachelor of Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Practice (C10061), which includes industry experience and provides a comprehensive preparation for a career in the engineering profession.
OverviewThis course is identical to the Bachelor of Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Practice except there is no Diploma in Engineering Practice requirement and hence no requirement for students to undertake internships. The course provides an opportunity for international students to experience practice-based education in an Australian context. It allows international students more flexibility to negotiate their workplace experience before or after the completion of the course or during vacation periods.
Engineering education in many countries is undergoing revolutionary change, and the UTS program is at the forefront of much of this change.

Mathematics Extension 1; Physics; and English Standard. English Advanced is recommended.
This course is offered on a four-year, full-time basis.
Students in the Bachelor of Engineering undertake the program as outlined in the Bachelor of Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Practice (C10061), without the Engineering Practice Program component.

The same majors are available as those shown in the Bachelor of Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Practice (C10061), and a typical program for students attending full time would be that shown for C10061, but with semesters moved forward to replace the semesters in which C10061 students undertake internships.
Students graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering without the Diploma in Engineering Practice are required to obtain the equivalent of at least 12 weeks' exposure to professional engineering practice, preferably outside the university environment. The details of this requirement may be found under the Engineering Practice Program section of the Faculty's website, or obtained from the Head of the Engineering Practice Program.
