OverviewThis course is designed to produce highly skilled property professionals able to enter the workforce with a qualification fully recognised by employers, government and professional associations. As part of this course, students undertake industry-based experience.
The inner-city campus allows for a course structured so that students receive work experience in the property industry concurrent with their studies at UTS. This paves the way for students to be in full-time employment by the completion of the course.
The course aims to produce graduates prepared for a career in the property industry, equipped with an understanding of the legalities, principles and processes required to fill a professional role in this field, and an appreciation of a professional ethic which emphasises responsibility and responsiveness to community needs.
Career options include property analyst, property manager, property developer, valuer, real estate agent, asset and portfolio manager, land economist, consultant, researcher, or business agent.
Mathematics and any two units of English.
This course is offered on a four-year, full-time or equivalent part-time basis.
The course comprises a total of 168 credit points (with Honours 192).

In addition to attending classes, students are required to gain practical experience in appropriate professional or industrial organisations. Full-time students undertake practical studies as part of the program included in core subjects. They are also required to gain approved professional experience of a minimum 40 days in the property sector by the completion of the final year of study.

Students who achieve a minimum of a 70 per cent weighted average mark in their first two levels of study may be invited to undertake the Honours program. This is taken as additional subjects, focusing on property research and analysis, an Honours research proposal and a thesis.
