Course aims

These courses aim to assist students to meet the demands of their workplaces by ensuring that they undertake subjects most relevant to their area of professional activity. The curriculum is designed to support flexibility while expanding students' knowledge, enhancing their professional skills, and broadening their learning, employment and future career opportunities.

Course duration

The Graduate Certificate in Health is offered on a one-year, part-time basis.

The Graduate Diploma in Health is offered on a one-year, full-time, or two-year, part-time basis.

The Master of Health is offered on a one-and-a-half-year, full-time, or three-year, part-time basis.

Course structure

Graduate Certificate in Health

Students must complete a total of 24 credit points:

  • Two specified subjects
  • Two elective subjects.

Graduate Diploma in Health

Students must complete a total of 48 credit points with a minimum of 6 credit points at 500 level:

  • Four specified subjects
  • Four elective subjects.

Master of Health

Students must complete a total of 72 credit points with a minimum of 18 credit points at 500 level.

The first 48 credit points are undertaken in the same way as the Graduate Diploma in Health. The final 24 credit points can be completed in one of the following two ways:

  • four elective subjects, or
  • project1 plus two elective subjects – prerequisites apply.

Footnote:
1. Project prerequisites:
• usually a Credit average in previous Graduate Diploma
• approved project topic and supervisor prior to anticipated commencement of the subject.

Majors

Students can design their own program, undertaking an appropriate number of subjects in the categories prescribed (Graduate Diploma and Master's level). Alternatively, if students wish to have a major identified on their transcript, they must complete 24 credit points in one of the specified fields below to satisfy a major area of study:

  • Education
  • Ethics
  • Law
  • Public Communication.
